Occasionally the sun comes out long enough for an ice cream. My professor told me to try the Stracciatella, which was like a milky cream flavor with streaks of dark chocolate. It was certainly worth straying away from my usual scoop of chocolate.
The weather has been really dreary here lately. The Oude Markt is deserted because the rain chased everyone away.
The Massaman Curry also held up to my standards.
Finally I found a nice Thai food place! Perhaps it is a good thing it took me so long because the prices are rather high here, but the Pad Thai tastes just like how Vino Thai makes it back at home.

The steps up to the old medieval tower look cheery with the added greenery.
I’m guessing this structure is part of the old medieval wall around the city judging from the color of the bricks and the way it was roped off from the public (the man can’t hold me back).
Most of the trees here have that strange blunted looking branches that the Weeping Willow has in the HP movies. This one is a great example.

Little did I know, that I have been walking past this beautiful park and forest every day on the way to school. It’s kind of tucked into a corner, so I’m really glad I discovered it!
My mint plant unfortunately died while I was on spring break, so I just got myself a basil plant. It keeps my room smelling nice and fresh while providing fresh leaves for cooking (basically just bruschetta at this point, but I’ll come up with something eventually).
Things have really started blooming here. This is just outside my psychology building.
The locals here like to enjoy the weather by sitting in the square and drinking beer, and who am I to argue with the locals, so that’s basically all I did on Labor Day. The Giraff Bar always has a great selection of beer to keep things educational for me, so a notable thing that I tried was Somersby Apple Cider which I was surprised to find that it tasted exactly of the apfelschorle that my Dad brings back from Germany. Devin really liked it too because she likes the taste of apple juice rather than beer.
